Engadin St. Moritz

In the Engadin – often dubbed the "roof of Europe" – there is a long tradition of tourism: The first mountaineers started to scale the as yet undisturbed mountain peaks as long ago as the middle of the century before last. Today the Upper Engadin as the holiday destination Engadin St. Moritz proves itself to be diverse and extremely varied: In the east the Piz Bernina – the only four-thousand meter peak among the eastern alps, the Upper Engadin lake plateau and the enchanting Engadin towns such as Sils, where Friedrich Nietzsche once stayed, in contrast to glamorous St. Moritz, the highest airport in Europe (Samedan) with numerous traditional activities.
