Arosa

Willkomma bi ünsch

Throughout my childhood, my time as a national handball player or my working life the wild valley of Schanfigg and Arosa has been a source of inspiration, a retreat and a wonderful space to pursue all kinds of sporting activities. My great-great-grandfather was from 1910 to 1914 spa director in Arosa and since spending my first summer holidays there I have fallen in love with the landscape and the unspoiled nature. I would be delighted if you discover the diversity and beauty of this region for yourselves.

Schanfigg lies between the cantonal capital of Chur and the resort of Arosa It is often described as "small and exquisite" or "a jewel in Graubünden's crown." Untouched nature and authentic mountain villages promise family friendly and affordable holidays in summer and autumn.

For example: the Schanfigger Höhenweg. Here, as everywhere, guests can relax and see every detail if they enjoy the mountains at a slower pace than usual. The six-day Schanfigger hiking tour runs from Chur through a network of well-signposted hiking and mountain trails to Praden, Tschiertschen and up to Arosa. On the right side of the valley, it climbs back up above the tree line via the homely Walser settlements to Chur.

The rural tranquillity of the Schanfigger villages inspires visitors who also enjoy the many sporting and cultural activities on offer in Arosa. This is highlighted by the extensive mountain bike tours in the area. On forest roads and challenging Alpine routes, our guests convert the mountain air into mental and physical energy.

When riding the bike, I am still discovering new beautiful spots in Schanfigg. If you prefer to travel in more comfort, I recommend a trip with the Rhaetian Railway (RhB) or in the open-top car on the Chur – Arosa line. You will experience how colourful and mystical our landscape is. I wish you a wonderful stay in Schanfigg. You will find more tips and information on this website.
