In our tourist office team, I was considered the hiking expert. Indeed, there is hardly any path I have not hiked since I moved to Sedrun 25 years ago. In particular, I love the mountain lakes and streams. Here, you can always find a place to take a refreshing dip. If you really want to get into dreaming, be inspired by the sound of the stream on the banks of the Rhine. The water apparently always gurgles in C major. Water, mountains, summer sky: In the holiday region Disentis Sedrun, our visitors walk on green meadows, rest in alder woods and enjoy the scent of alpine herbs and flowers along the way. Numerous hiking and biking tours attract visitors to the upper part of the Surselva. A special highlight is the hike to Lake Toma, the source of the Rhine. In addition, the long-distance trail "Senda Sursilvana" passes by Sedrun and Disentis, where you can enjoy wonderful views of parts of the Surselva.

Under the "Bialas Vacanzas" programme, many activities are offered free during the summer and autumn holidays with a guest card – from a herbal trail, a carriage ride through to a horse and Indian afternoon for children.

Seasoned mountain bikers will enjoy the challenging route near to the Oberalp pass. Using the Swiss National Bike Route 1, you will get to Andermatt via the Maighels hut and the Maighels pass. Naturally, you can also explore the region by car. During the summer months, electric cars are available for hire on a daily basis. They will take you from pass to pass without noise or emissions.

Finally, I have another recommendation for you: after all, our region is rich in minerals. You can dig for crystals or search for gold nuggets in the young Rhine. I wish you much success and a wonderful stay in Disentis Sedrun.
