As a passionate mountain biker, I can‘t think of a better place to live than Flims with the Flims, Laax and Falera villages. In the summer you will often find me and my friends from the FLMBA Bike Crew on one of a total of 330 kilometres of cycling routes. It's great being able to combine working in the Boarderworld-Shop with my outdoor activities in beautiful surroundings. I hope we'll run into each other, inside or outside!
Anyone preferring to go on foot in the Flims bikers‘ paradise can hike through the Rhine Gorge, clamber over ridges or climb to the summit. Over 250 km of marked hiking trails lead through one of the most versatile areas for hiking in the Alps. These include, for example, theme trails such as the two culinary trails, "Forest & Water" and "Mountain & Views," the Pinut via ferrata or the high rope garden in Flims. Not to mention the Caumasee, Creastasee or Laaxersee lakes which are ideal for swimming and they are especially inviting on hot summer days.
And there is lots more to discover, like the stunning Sardona Tectonic Arena and the mountain landscape around the Piz Sardona, which has been designated a UNESCO natural world heritage site since the summer of 2008, or Parc La Mutta, the megalithic place of worship in Falera. The region offers something for the whole family with the Ami Sabi Summer Wonderland, free training bike rental, numerous playgrounds and the Freestyle Academy, the first Freestyle indoor hall in Europe.
I would also like to recommend our wide range of cultural offerings, particularly the MENHIR music festival in Falera and the Flims Classical Summer. Another tip for bikers: in high summer we go up to the Vorab Glacier; magnificent panoramic views and refreshing cool mountain air guaranteed. Have a great holiday!
