Herzlich Willkommen

From the glacier to the Rhine – the reason I cannot stop singing the praises of my home region is because it is quite simply beautiful. Anyone who has ever sat in the vineyards at a "Graubünden platter" (a cold platter) or has enjoyed the tranquillity and the view up to the Alp Schwarzbuel, will agree with me. I am proud to be the official ambassador of the holiday region Heidiland and I am looking forward to welcoming you sometime soon.

The Heidiland holiday region in eastern Switzerland, extends from the deep and crystal clear Lake Walen up to the wine-growing region of Bündner Herrschaft. It is primarily known for the clear air, some of the most impressive mountains in the Alps, its hospitality and the ubiquitous Heidi myth. In this region, Johanna Spyri found the inspiration to write her world-famous novel. Heidi. This is also where the famous physician and natural scientist Paracelsus worked. The oldest documented European wine-growing estate and Europe's first indoor thermal pool are both located here.

Hikers, bikers, sun worshippers and bathers will get their money's worth in Heidiland. Wellness enthusiasts are also well catered for: for example, at the Tamina Therme spa. The 36.5°C thermal spa water, which is believed to have had healing powers since the Middle Ages, promotes a sense of relaxation to this day.

The source of the thermal water lies in the Tamina gorge, which I have visited some 50 times already - it never ceases to fascinate and inspire me. Places like this have always been a source of inspiration for me, expressed, for example, in the official Heidiland song "My Heidiland." You can also use this active holiday to hike in Heidi's footsteps, relax and recharge your batteries. I wish you a wonderful stay.
