Naturally we believe that the best way to visit us is to come with the Rhaetian Railway (RhB). After all, the railway and our valley belong together – and both are UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Furthermore the RhB brings you cheaply to the fantastic skiing areas such as neighbouring Engardin. The steep south Alpine Bündner Sonnental (“Sunshine Valley“ with 1,900 hours of sun a year!) stretches geographically from the Bernina Pass to Tirano in the Valtelline valley. Alpine to sub Mediterranean flora and fauna crop up. The Valposchiavo is inhabited by villages, small hamlets, farms and mountain pasture huts. The Poschiavino flows through the valley and ends in the Lago di Puschlaver.

In Viale children can practice their first skiing activities without having to travel. The popular skiing area of Diavolezza and Lagalb, which neighbour Engadin, are about a 30 minute journey away. Here 350 kilometres of slopes in all levels of difficulty await guests. The Engadin is closely linked to Valposchiavo by the Bernina line of the RhB and via the Bernina Pass.

Valposchiavo is a paradise for winter and snow shoe hikers. And those who rather do things in comfort can a go for a carriage journey through the mountain landscape. In Le Prese ice skaters will find an artificial ice rink which was opened in 2007. Cross country skiers can take the prepared tracks on the plateau La Rösa which lies at a height of 1,800 metres.

Did you know that the circular viaduct at Brusio is the emblem of the Bernina line? There the train makes a quadrant with a radius of 70 metres. You should go and see it when you are with us – regardless of whether you travel on the RhB or not.
