As President of the Vals Tourism Organization “Visit Vals”, I warmly welcome you to one of the best winter sport regions in Switzerland. I love Vals in the wintertime because it becomes the perfect showcase for the original and authentic character of our mountain village.

Vals combines original living, family atmosphere, and a multi-faceted offering for winter pleasures - from the famous Spa to the alpine ski area of Dachberg. Vals is known primarily for its Spa, designed by the star architect Peter Zumthor, and whose mineral spring was appreciated as early as the Bronze Age, probably because of its healing effect. In winter, guests can relax in the outside pool, indulging themselves in the 36-degree water flowing directly from the rock, or enjoy one of the many Spa treatments.

The ski area slopes will no doubt satisfy the needs of even the most demanding visitor. Lovers of peace and quiet should take some of the winter hiking trails, for example, the Panorama trail from the top station on Gadastatt over Bidanätsch and Frunt to Zervreila – a 2-hour sheer enjoyment of nature. Conversely, if you are an adventure-seeking vacationer, rent a sled in the restaurant and glide through the wild Zervreila gorge into the valley.

Leave the slopes and trails aside and visit Vals’ Waterworld by the Spa, an interactive exhibition on the mineral spring. Also, take a stroll through the largest community in Surselva to discover our many architectural and culinary highlights.
